SIX MONTH INTENSIVE COURSE
Goal:
We wish to give people the basic skills to enable them to move
away from the city and be self reliant and resourceful. They will
learn how to recycle and live in harmony with themselves, Mother
Nature and their fellow mankind.
Features of the course:
Learn about human energy and how to control it
Experience plant energy and how to effect and stimulate it
Prepare soil for soil blocks and plant the seeds using the above
techniques
Caring for plants in the greenhouse, watering, ventilation,
heating, energy levels
Studying the influence of the moon on plants
learning the family-genetic side of the plants
Companion planting
Soil types and how to improve each kind
Hybrids - advantages and disadvantages
Research the effect of pyramid energy on plants
Pruning trees, shrubs, berry bushes
Restoring old fruit trees
Care of perennial beds - herb,strawberry,rhubarb
Learning about some of the local herbs - their uses and how to
prepare them
Picking, preparing and going to a market garden
Processing food - drying - canning - freezing
Animal husbandry and working with animals energies
What to do if an animal is in trouble and when to call a vet
Putting down animals in a peaceful and humane way which
completely changes the taste and quality of the meat
Garlic harvest - how to cure - ready for market - braid
Construction of a new greenhouse, worm farming in the greenhouse
Preparing the root cellar for storage of produce, physically and
energy wise
Other aspects:Each student ( maximum of three) will also have an opportunity to learn skills beyond the garden parameter. Kevan is a gifted craftsman and will be teaching basic woodworking, welding, chainsaw use and many other skills that will be required to be independent in the country. In the fall we will be constructing a straw bale house. It is environmentally friendly, a renewable resource as well as a quick and inexpensive way to build a home.
